SoHo has a new room for the next chapter

Babylist has set Sept. 25 for its New York showroom at 477 Broadway, where city parents can compare gear with their actual apartments in mind.

Babylist says its first New York City showroom opens Sept. 25 at 477 Broadway in SoHo. The 20,000 square foot space is designed for families to see and compare baby gear in person, with registry guidance and rooms intended to reflect the realities of city living. Check with Babylist for current visiting hours before going.

A stroller can look beautifully compact online and occupy an alarming amount of a hallway at home. That tension is the point of the new showroom. Babylist says its displays will include nursery arrangements for different living situations, including shared rooms, and gear selected with small apartments, limited storage and city transportation in mind.

For someone planning a registry, the useful question is less what looks good in a product photograph than what fits through the building door and has somewhere to live afterward. Comparing a fold, a footprint and a few options in person could make this a practical stop before a purchase, even if the afternoon also includes the usual SoHo wandering.

Babylist has announced registry consultations, classes and a dedicated education area. The showroom is intended for exploring products and building a registry. Confirm New York visit hours, appointment options and any class dates directly before making a dedicated trip.

Babylist's own New York guide sets Sept. 25 as opening day. If the new room is on your list this weekend, make the showroom one considered stop and leave room to walk the neighborhood afterward. Confirm the doors and hours directly with Babylist before setting out.
