Marathon Sunday has an evening encore at Terminal 5
The official celebration gives runners and their supporters a second meeting point, several hours after the finish.
The TCS New York City Marathon has an evening destination beyond the finish line. New York Road Runners lists its Victory Lap celebration at Terminal 5 on Sunday, Nov. 1, from 7 to 11 p.m., open to runners and supporters age 21 and older.

The official listing sets admission at $30 for NYRR members and $35 for nonmembers, plus a processing fee. A ticket includes entry and one drink. Music, photo activations and partner giveaways are part of the announced program. This is a scheduled event, not a report from inside the party.
An evening gathering solves one particular marathon problem: the runner and the cheering section do not always finish their days together. Spectators may have spent hours moving between viewing spots. Runners still have to leave the finish area, collect belongings and recover. A later rendezvous can be more realistic than trying to improvise a large lunch immediately afterward.
Treat the party as an optional final chapter, not a recovery obligation. Make the decision around the runner’s energy, with time for a meal, dry clothes and a quiet interval first. Friends can agree on a meeting point without making the entire group responsible for staying until closing.
Terminal 5 is at 610 W. 56th St. Bring a valid physical ID: NYRR says photographs of identification and expired documents will not be accepted. The age restriction applies to supporters as well as runners, so this is not a family gathering for younger spectators.
